How to Install macOS Sierra 10.12 on VMware Software in PC

Apple, the latest version of the Mac OS, MacOS 10.12 announced. Mac OS Sierra and Siri’s capabilities have improved.

In this article, we will install Apple Mac OS 10.12 with the VMware Workstation / Player virtualization program. On Windows 10, install VM Workstation 14/15 on your computer before proceeding with macOS installation with VMware.

If you want to download VMware Workstation 14/15, you can access it here. After performing the Workstation installation, you can proceed to the setup.

You can download the Apple ISO image and the tools required for VMware from the links at the bottom of the article to your computer.

How to Run macOS Sierra 10.12 in VMware Virtual Machine

To install the Apple operating system using the VMware virtualization software, you need the Unlocker program. The purpose of the Unlocker program is to activate the macOS system on VMware.

Follow the steps below to install macOS Sierra 10.12 using the virtualization program on the Windows 10 operating system.

Step 1

Before using VMware Unlocker, you can see whether Apple Mac OS X is available in the Select a Guest Operating System window.

Step 2

Run the win-install.cmd file as an administrator to enable the VM Unlocker tool.

Step 3

The Unlocker program stops the VM Workstation/Player services.

Downloading VM Tools software …

Virtual machine tools were downloaded and copied to the required files.

Now open the VM Workstation 14/15 program again and click Create a new Virtual Machine and select Custom and click Next.

Select Eject “OS X Base System” to remove the ISO image installed on the system.

How To Install Vmware Workstation

Below is the step by step approach for the installation:

Note: Once you will download the software you will receive the Trial Activation Key for 60 days to use the software.

Create a new virtual dedicated machine for Open-e DSS using ISO downloaded from above mentioned link. The configurations which I have used are:

Install Aix On Vmware Workstation 11 Key

Note: I was getting issue with by default 256MB RAM so I increased it to 2GB and then did the installation. Once done I changed it to 512 and/or 1 GB.

Note: I have used other while choosing guest operating system option.

Power on the machine now to start with the installation (press enter to start the installation)

Accept the agreement and select the drive (we have not added any extra rive, so we will have just one drive visible by default):

Once Done Reboot the system and complete the Network and configuration part:

Press enter once the screen popped up or let the system boot up automatically.

Use Ctrl+Alt+N and configure the Network IP and gateway to access console using GUI:

Go to browser and enter https://192.168.74.138 , once done it will ask for the Product Key. You will get the same on your registered email or click on TRY link and enter your email ID for activation link.

Accept the agreement and enter the password “admin” and configure Language settings, password, IP configuration (which we have already done, just click next), elect time zone, set time manually, set server name then click check on “Do not show me the wizard at logon” and press finished.

Running Aix On Vmware

This all includes in the installation part of Opene-DSS software for having SCSI-3 persistent reservation LUN’s which are used in SFHA (Veritas Clusters) in IO fencing.
